Challange
Debook had no existing design infrastructure, research processes, or component documentation when I came on board. Beyond that, the product sat at the intersection of two complex spaces — publishing and Web3 — requiring a design approach that made blockchain-native concepts feel intuitive and accessible to everyday readers and authors. The core challenge was building structure from zero while designing for an audience that might be entirely new to NFT ownership.
Scope
Working within a small collaborative team and using Figma, Notion, and Miro, my work spanned the full design process:
End-to-End MVP Design — Owned the complete design of the product's first version, from early concepts through final UI, leaving a strong personal mark on the product's look, feel, and experience.
User Testing Architecture — Defined the research framework for the product: testing methodologies, protocols, and documentation standards that translated user feedback into actionable design decisions.
Design System — Created Debook's first design system in Figma, establishing a component library, design tokens, and usage guidelines that brought consistency across the product.
Visual Design & Website — Collaborated closely with other designers on the product's visual direction and the design of the marketing website, contributing to a cohesive brand experience.
